Scrum Call Policy

Purpose


To maintain effective team coordination and communication through disciplined and

professional participation in daily scrum calls.


Call Attendance & Timings


1. Attendance is Mandatory  for all scheduled scrum calls.

2. Be on Time  – join the call at least 2 minutes before the scheduled time. Late

joiners will be noted.

3. Unavailability  must be communicated  via email by 10:00 AM  and approved by

the Project Manager (PM). Last-minute messages are not acceptable except in

genuine emergencies.


Work Updates


1. Each team member must provide a clear and concise update on:

a) What was completed yesterday

b) What is planned for today

c) Any blockers or dependencies


2. Be prepared and keep updates brief but complete (1–2 minutes max).


Call Etiquette


1. Stay on Mute when not speaking to avoid background noise.

2. Be attentive — multitasking during the call is discouraged.

3. Respect others’ time — avoid side discussions or unrelated comments.

4. Maintain a professional tone and language during the call.


Video & Device Policy


1. Video ON is mandatory while presenting or giving updates.

2. Laptops only must be used for joining the call to ensure proper communication.

3. Joining from mobile is allowed only in emergencies and is limited to 3 times per

month.


Leave & Absence Protocol


1. Planned Leave  must be requested via email  1 week in advance  and approved

by the PM.

2. Emergency Leave  may be considered if requested  1 day prior  with valid reasons.


Performance & Review Impact

1. Participation, communication quality, punctuality, and adherence to this policy are

considered during  monthly performance reviews .

2. Your conduct in scrum calls contributes to your overall evaluation and hiring

prospects within the organization.
