1.3 Types of Hazard

Liza - In previous lesson we understood about hazards. Can u summarise John.

John - Yes - A hazard is anything with the potential to cause harm - Like physically, chemically, biologically.

Liza - Good John

John:
Liza, you said there are different types of hazards—what are they exactly?

Liza:
Let me show you—quick and simple.



[Cut: Noisy machine area, forklift passes by]

Liza (voiceover):
Physical hazards—noise, heat, poor lighting, or moving equipment.

[Cut: Electrical panel with loose wiring]

Liza (voiceover):
Electrical hazards—shocks, burns, and arc flashes. One loose wire could be fatal.
[Cut: Welding station with fumes and paint cans]

Liza (VoiceOver): Chemical hazards—fumes, dust, vapors. They damage your lungs, and some can explode.



[Cut: Worker doing repetitive assembly task]

Liza (voiceover):
Ergonomic hazards—repetitive motion, lifting wrong, no breaks.



[Cut: Co-worker sneezing in the break room]

Liza (voiceover):
Biological hazards—viruses and bacteria spread fast.

John:
So hazards aren’t always obvious.

Liza:
Exactly. Spot them early. Fix them fast. Stay safe.
