The annual calendar will specify:

  • Holiday name;

  • Date;

  • Day of the week; and

  • Whether the holiday is statutory or company-declared.

The holiday calendar circulated by HR will be the official holiday schedule applicable to employees for that year.

5. Holidays Falling on Weekly Off

If a declared holiday falls on an employee's weekly off, the treatment of that holiday will be governed by applicable law and the Company's annual holiday calendar.

An additional substitute holiday will not automatically be provided unless required by applicable law or specifically announced by the Company.

6. Leave Before or After a Holiday

Employees must not use leave immediately before or after a public/company holiday, weekly off, or other declared holiday to create an extended break without prior written approval.

Any such leave without approval may be treated as unauthorized absence and may be dealt with under the Company's Leave and Attendance Policies.

7. Working on a Public Holiday

In exceptional circumstances, employees may be required to work on a declared holiday due to:

  • Client requirements;

  • Critical project requirements;

  • Business continuity;

  • Urgent development/support requirements; or

  • Other operational requirements.

Where an employee is required to work on a statutory holiday, compensation, substitute holiday, or other applicable benefit will be provided in accordance with applicable law and Company policy.

8. New Employees / Employees Joining During the Year

Employees joining CLIDE during the calendar year will be eligible for holidays falling after their date of joining, subject to the applicable terms of employment and Company policy.

9. Management Rights

CLIDE reserves the right to modify the holiday calendar where required due to:

  • Changes in Government notifications;

  • Changes in applicable laws;

  • Client/project requirements;

  • Business requirements; or

  • Other operational considerations.

Any changes will be communicated by HR.

10. Compliance

This policy will be administered in accordance with applicable Central and State Government laws, notifications and regulations.

Where applicable law provides a requirement or benefit more favourable than this policy, the applicable statutory provision will prevail.

Employee Responsibility

Employees are responsible for reviewing the annual holiday calendar issued by HR and planning their leave accordingly.

Holiday entitlement and leave entitlement are separate. A public/company holiday does not count as an employee's monthly leave.
