AC Usage & Energy Conservation Policy
Policy Objective:
To ensure proper and controlled use of air conditioners, maintain a comfortable workplace environment, and avoid unnecessary energy consumption.
Guidelines
- Only authorized personnel are permitted to switch the AC ON or OFF. No other employee should operate the AC power button, remote, or switch.
- Only authorized personnel may change the AC temperature or operating mode. Employees should not independently increase or decrease the temperature.
- The office AC temperature shall normally be maintained between 24°C and 26°C. The temperature may be adjusted within this range based on weather conditions, occupancy and overall workplace requirements.
- 24°C shall be the preferred/default AC setting , in line with energy-conservation guidance promoted by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) .
- If any employee feels too cold or uncomfortable while the AC is running, they are requested to carry a jacket/sweater and keep it in their allotted bag/storage space for use when required.
- Employees should not request frequent changes in AC temperature based on individual preferences. The AC settings will be maintained at a suitable level for the overall workplace.
- Doors and windows should remain properly closed while the AC is operating to prevent unnecessary cooling loss.
- Please avoid keeping doors open unnecessarily and ensure that the AC is not running in an unoccupied area.
- Before leaving the office/meeting room at the end of the working day, employees should inform the authorized person so that the AC can be switched off.
- If you notice that the AC is not cooling properly, making unusual noise, leaking water, or showing any fault , please immediately inform the authorized person/Admin Team. Do not attempt to repair or adjust it yourself.
- Employees are requested to cooperate with the policy and avoid unnecessary discussions or arguments regarding AC settings.
- The Management/Admin Team may review and adjust the AC operating schedule and temperature settings based on weather conditions, occupancy and overall workplace requirements.
